In the framework of capacity building, skill development, and promoting sustainable management of water resources, and in collaboration with the CIHEAM Bari Mediterranean Agronomic Institute through the activities of the Egyptian-Italian project "Water Knowledge," the practical implementation of the training program (Smart Water Resources Management for Agriculture) continues this week at the headquarters of the Regional Training Center. This program aims to enhance the technical capabilities of water management professionals in Egypt, including engineers and water specialists. Twenty trainees from the Ministries of Irrigation, Agriculture, and Environment will participate in this program over a period of three weeks. The program discusses: ✳️ Completion of IoT systems and their practical applications and importance in water resource management and field irrigation operations. ✳️ Introduction to smart irrigation components. ✳️ Practical application on irrigation control devices (drip irrigation - hydroponics). ✳️ Practical application on irrigation control devices to measure soil moisture content. ✳️ Remote control using a desktop application and changing the irrigation schedule. ✳️ Practical application through the model smart farm at the training center, equipped with an agricultural weather station and sensors to measure soil moisture content and soil moisture tension.
